Coaching is very important in life and business. We all know that the best athletes in the world have a coach. Behind every successful company is a business coach. What I mean about success is the way you live your life through your business. If we remove money from the equation and focus on value then we don’t have to think about dollar signs, it just comes naturally.Getting the basics right.
In this blog I want to talk to you about some of my findings as a business coach and my recipe for success.
Over the years, I have dealt with businesses on a daily basis. Likewise, I have also worked with proprietors, managers and directors and three things have always stood out for me.
- Stigma – Companies attach a stigma to sales, marketing, advertising and web development companies. They view them as being very pushy and after receiving about forty calls a day this can become a very prominent problem in the industry. Recently we asked a client why they decided to choose Brand You. Their reply was that they liked our approach and the way we handled our time with them and most importantly we listened to their needs. This was a key point for my role as a business coach as it shows what we do and allows us to receive feedback from customers. I worked in advertising for a number of years and have seen many promises of figures and results made to clients. This approach does not work. As a business coach, my team and I sit down, listen and work with the company.
- 2. Passion and owning your business – We observed companies when dealing with them on a day to day basis. From the perspective of a business coach, I found that people who were passionate and confident took ownership of their company. They knew their market, managed their business correctly and most importantly, had the correct dynamics for getting the job done. If you are not passionate about your business, your customers won’t be either. If you are passionate, it gives you clarity and confidence. It is important to take control of your basics and ensure your marketing, branding and web strategies are working correctly. This is why we have our slogan which represents our skill that we have developed. “Achieving the results you need.”
- 3. Dynamics – We believe one of the most important elements in business is to have the correct dynamics; otherwise your business may suffer. We deem this to be one of the keys to success. As a business coach, I call it “getting the job done”. This is an area which most businesses fall down on. One of the differences between a successful business, and one which fails or even a business or idea which does not get off the ground is correct dynamics. We see and hear this day to day from our clients and businesses. It is essential that you have the correct dynamics in whatever you do.
